Symptoms

When you call the adtchkpt utility from a batch file to set a checkpoint for your job, the utility reports the following error:

Unexpected error: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at adtcheckpoint.Module1.SetCheckpoint()

Workaround

This error can be ignored, as the checkpoint is correctly set despite the error.

More Information

Note that you may see this error in the captured console output for a step even if you're not calling adtchkpt explicitly. This is because if you use the setting to "Execute a batch file stored in adTempus," adTempus automatically adds checkpoint calls to the batch file when it is executed.
