Summary
This article demonstrates how to create a date rule to run or not run a job on Victoria Day in Canada.
More Information
Victoria Day occurs on the Monday prior to May 25. To create a schedule or Holiday Set entry to fall on this day, you will use two linked floating date rules.
1. From the Schedule page of a Holiday Set or Shared Schedule, or from the Date Selection page of a schedule entry for a Schedule Trigger, click the Add button to add a new date rule.
2. In the Date Rule Properties window select the option to trigger on "Days specified using a floating rule" and configure the rule to trigger "0" days "after" the "1st" occurrence of selected weekdays "before" "a specified day..." Check "Monday" in the days of the week section. (See the top Date Rule window in the screen capture below.)
3. Click the Select button next to "a specified day..." to open a second Date Rule window. In this window, select the option to trigger on "Selected days of month." Check "May" in the Months section and "25" in the days of month section. (See the bottom Date Rule window in the screen capture below.)
4. Click OK to save each of the Date Schedules.
You now have a rule that will be satisfied on the Monday preceding May 25.
