Symptoms
When you try to connect to an adTempus server using the adTempus Console or another client tool, you receive the following error:
You do not have permission to connect to the adTempus server
Cause
This error occurs if you have not been granted permission to connect to the adTempus server.
More Information
Access to adTempus is based on the permissions granted to each Windows user. When you try to connect to the adTempus server, adTempus checks to see if your user account has been granted permission to connect.
adTempus 3 and Earlier
By default, only members of the Administrators security group are permitted to connect to an adTempus server. To allow other users to connect, an Administrator must grant Connect permission to those users. See the Initial Permission Setup topic in the adTempus online help for more information about setting up user permissions.
adTempus 4 and Later
Beginning with adTempus 4, members of the computer's Administrators security group are not automatically granted permissions for adTempus, and Security Logins must be configured in adTempus for all users who need to use adTempus. See the Initial Permission Setup topic for information on how to configure logins and permissions.
If no users remain with the necessary permission to manage logins in adTempus, you can designate new administrators using the Administrator Provisioning tool.
If you have upgraded to adTempus 4 from an earlier version, users who were previously able to connect may no longer be able to do so. See the Security Changes from Prior Versions topic for more information on these changes and on how to configure users.
