Symptoms

The SQL Server instance for adTempus logs the following warning message in the Application log in the Event Viewer:

The description for Event ID ( 19011 ) in Source ( MSSQL$ADTEMPUS ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: (SpnRegister) : Error 1355.

Cause

When the adTempus SQL Server instance starts, it attempts to register a Service Principle Name (SPN) in Active Directory. This message is logged when that registration fails.

Workaround

This message can be ignored. It does not affect the operation of the computer, SQL Server, or adTempus.

Status

This warning is due to an issue with SQL Server.
