Symptoms

When you select About from the Help menu in the adTempus Console, the About box displays the following message in the License Information section:

Error occurred while retrieving license information: Specified cast is not valid.

Cause

This error appears to be caused by an issue with the Microsoft .NET Framework.

More Information

Even though you cannot see your license information, this error indicates that the adTempus service has properly recognized your software license: if the license were not installed correctly, the About box would display an evaluation warning message rather than the error shown above. Therefore you need not worry whether the adTempus software is operating in "licensed" mode.

If you need to view your license (e.g., to obtain your license number), run the License Manager tool in the adTempus program group on the Start menu.
