Summary
This article describes how to reset connection security for the adTempus server if you inadvertently lock all users out from connecting to adTempus.
More Information
The security settings that determine which users are permitted to connect to the adTempus server are defined on the Server Security page of the Security Options window in the adTempus Console (on the Tools menu, select Server Options, then Security Settings).
If you modify these security settings such that no users are permitted to connect to adTempus (e.g., by removing the default "BUILTIN\Administrators" access), you will not be able to connect the Console to the Server to re-enable connections. If this happens you must edit the Registry to reset the default connection security.
To do so, run the Registry Editor and go to the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcana Development\adTempus". Under this key you will find a binary value named "security". Delete this value, then restart the adTempus service. The connection security will now be reset to the default settings, which allows only members of the Administrators group to connect.
Assuming you are logged in to the computer as an Administrator, you can now connect to adTempus using the Console and used the user interface to adjust security settings.
Note: This procedure only affects the Server Security page of the Security Options window, which controls the ability to connect to and administer the adTempus server. Security settings for jobs and other objects are not affected.
