Symptoms

When a File Trigger is configured to look for files on a drive letter that is mapped to a network drive, the job is never triggered.

Cause

Mapped drive letters cannot be used with file triggers. Drive letters mapped outside of adTempus are not available to adTempus, and drive letters mapped within the job (on the Resources page of the job properties) are not mapped until the job is actually started (they are not mapped for the trigger).

Resolution

Use a UNC path rather than a drive letter to refer to the network resource.
