Summary
During installation, the installer may roll back (abort installation) at the point where it is "Installing Services" or "Starting Services."
The problem only occurs if a previous version of the Arcana Scheduler is installed.
More Information
The log file created during installation will contain the following message:
Info 1923.Service Arcana Scheduler (Arcana Scheduler) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services.
Workaround
To work around this problem, follow the steps below.
Note: This procedure will remove any changes you have made to holiday or security settings for the Scheduler. If you have made such changes and need to preserve them, use the registry export utility to back up the configuration first. Information for scheduled programs IS NOT affected by the procedure below and will be preserved during the installation.
- Go to the Services applet in the Control Panel and stop the Arcana Scheduler service.
- Open a command prompt and go to the Arcana Scheduler program directory
- At the command prompt execute the following command: "adscheduler remove" (without the quotes)
- Restart the computer
- Rerun the installation
